Everton fans might question Tyler Dibling’s excessive transfer fee, but Theo Walcott has already assured that it’s the right deal.
The Toffees are closing in on the £42 million deal for 19-year-old Tyler Dibling, as David Moyes seems to have finally ended the saga.
Dibling will be Everton’s second most expensive transfer, just missing out on the record, but it’s a statement from The Friedkin Group.
Although inexperienced, Dibling could emulate Paul Gascoigne, as his quality is very exciting.
Theo Walcott, who was once a young player coming from Southampton himself, has drawn a brilliant comparison for the Everton-bound star.

Former Everton player Theo Walcott said Tyler Dibling reminds him of Gareth Bale
Walcott, who had four seasons at Goodison Park, knows what it takes to play for the Blues.
Obviously, adding in his Southampton experience as well, the former winger will know what he’s talking about when it comes to Dibling, and he’s compared the youngster to none other than five-time Champions League winner Gareth Bale.
The 36-year-old told talkSPORT in September 2024: “He is an athlete. You can see the size of him already as well.

“It’s very much like the Gareth Bale sort of physique, and the way he has got a bit of swag about him on the field like a Jack Grealish type.”

To have the comparison of someone like Bale proves how high the 19-year-old’s ceiling really is, and Dibling’s £100 million valuation could come to fruition with the Blues.
Everton have hit the jackpot as Tyler Dibling doesn’t feel ‘pressure’ over Gareth Bale comparison
It’s clear that Evertonians will be very intrigued to see how the young winger gets on, but it looks like the fanbase is in for a treat.

His Bale-like physique at such a young age proves how he’s ready for a major role in the Premier League, and his mentality matches that.
Speaking to the Daily Echo in February last season, the Southampton star wasn’t bothered by comparisons to one of the greats.
“I don’t really feel the pressure when I hear about that. Obviously, those players, like Bale, are so good. If I’m going to get put in that group of players that came up (at Saints), it’s just good to be around those names. It’s cool.”
Combining his mentality, ability at a young age, and strength on the ball proves that the Toffees have hit the jackpot with his signature.
It’s an exciting time for Everton, and Walcott clearly believes that Dibling is destined for the top.
