Houston Rockets GM Rafael Stone denied any trade talks involving Giannis Antetokounmpo, confirming the team has not pursued the Bucks star despite offseason speculation.
Houston Rockets general manager Rafael Stone has put an end to speculation linking Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Rockets this offseason.
“No,” Stone said when asked about the possibility of Antetokounmpo trade talks. “I deal well with Jon Horst (Bucks GM), I really like him. Jon was very clear that they weren’t doing anything. So, that was that.”
His comments come after weeks of rumors suggesting Houston could pursue a blockbuster move for the two-time MVP.
Antetokounmpo’s future has been a hot topic after the Milwaukee Bucks reshaped their roster this summer, moving on from Damian Lillard, Brook Lopez, and Pat Connaughton while adding Myles Turner, Cole Anthony, and Gary Harris.
Despite the changes, Bucks GM Jon Horst has made it clear that the Greek forward is untouchable in trade discussions.
The reigning MVP delivered another dominant season, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists over 73 games.
