Daniel Farke singles out 'annoying' Arsenal star who terrorised Leeds in Premier League clash

Daniel Farke spoke about an ‘annoying’ Arsenal player after Leeds United were dominated by the Gunners in the Premier League.

Not a good day to be a Leeds United fan. Daniel Farke’s side were shellshocked by Arsenal, who were rampant at the Emirates, emerging 5-0 victors.

Aside from a Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka injury dampener, Viktor Gyokeres got off the mark in the Premier League, Max Dowman shone and, all round, it was a solid day out for the Gunners.

One player in particular also stood out in red, and that was Jurrien Timber, who Daniel Farke singled out as an issue.

Timber was sensational for Arsenal. The Dutchman scored twice and assisted once as Leeds were picked apart by Arsenal.

Speaking post-match to Sky Sports, Leeds boss Farke outlined his annoyance with Timber doing so.

“We [Leeds] didn’t create anything, but all the wings were, of course, dangerous. Sometimes, you just have to be aware of wide free kicks, throw-ins, or corner kicks.

“It was a bit annoying that [Jurrien] Timber scored twice. Each time, he was more or less in between my two strongest defensive headers!

“Of course, if you want to avoid throwing away points on a night like this, you have to defend better in those situations. But that’s enough on that – no complaints anymore. We know this isn’t the final game of the season.”

Arsenal’s defender did terrorise the Lilywhites. It’s not every week your right-back scores twice, and Farke was right to single him out as a problem after the fixture.

Jurrien Timber reacts to Leeds performance

The Dutchman’s efforts meant he was awarded man of the match by Sky Sports, which was fully deserved.

Timber himself was shocked at the fact that he scored twice in the encounter, alluding to the fact that he thinks it’s the first time it’s happened in a game.

Timber said: “I don’t think I’ve done that. I definitely haven’t scored twice and assisted as well. God is good. All glory to him.”

The Dutchman will be hoping for another solid outing in his next performance, as it’s needed. Arsenal take on Liverpool in what is a blockbuster clash next Sunday.
