'I have to say': Jamie O'Hara makes Oscar Bobb claim after watching him during Man City vs…

Jamie O’Hara has singled out Oscar Bobb for one reason after watching the Norwegian play during Manchester City’s defeat to Tottenham.

Saturday was a tough one for Pep Guardiola’s men, as Tottenham comfortably beat them at the Etihad Stadium, which was compounded by Rayan Ait-Nouri leaving the pitch injured during the first half of the contest.

After a promising 4-0 win over Wolves on the opening weekend of the season, Man City were dragged back down to earth by their bogey team in Spurs, with the 2-0 defeat letting Guardiola know that there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in Manchester.

Former Tottenham star Jamie O’Hara was delighted with the result at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, and when talking about the game, decided to mention Oscar Bobb for a specific reason.

Jamie O’Hara thinks Oscar Bobb was ‘miles off it’ against Tottenham

Several of Man City’s stars could not get to grips with Tottenham’s game plan as Thomas Frank completely nullified the Manchester club’s attack.

Rayan Cherki looked lost during the contest and even looked over to Guardiola during the first half for advice, but the French star was not the only one, as Omar Marmoush was taken off early in the second half alongside the 22-year-old.

Bobb impressed away at Wolves on the opening weekend of the season, but against Tottenham, the Norwegian was not at his best, drawing criticism from O’Hara.

“Oscar Bobb, today I have to say he was miles off it,” O’Hara said on talkSPORT after the game. “They were poor Man City. They were terrible, terrible.

“Rico Lewis, Oscar Bobb, Trafford in goal. He was in no man’s land for half the game.”

Man City travel to Brighton next, and the 22-year-old is expected to start in the absence of Savinho, as Bobb is considered a “special” player by Bernardo Silva and everyone else at the Etihad Stadium.

Saturday was a tough day for the midfielder and many of his teammates, but this will be forgotten about if the Norwegian performs against Brighton next Sunday.

Oscar Bobb’s performance vs Tottenham in numbers

Despite an underwhelming display, Bobb was still one of Man City’s biggest attacking threats, with the Norwegian topping several metrics.

The 22-year-old created the most chances (2), was the most fouled player (4 times), was the most accurate passer (93%), and won the most duels (8) against Tottenham.

Bobb would also finish the game with seven touches in the opposition box, one pass into the final third, complete 1/1 of his crosses, 1/1 of his long balls, was dispossessed twice, and won 2/3 of his tackles.

It was a bad day at the office for several of Man City’s stars, but now is not the time to panic, having had no pre-season, with the upcoming games providing a clearer picture of where Guardiola’s men will be at throughout the 2025/26 campaign.
