After a quiet start to the window, Nottingham Forest’s transfer business has certainly ramped up of late.
The summer might have been a bit of a slow-burner, but patience may well have paid off for the Reds. They have overseen some excellent deals and have the basis of a strong squad in place as they aim to push on again this term.
Strength in depth will be key for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo given he will have the demands of European football to contend with this time around. The Portuguese will need to have sufficient options across the pitch to cope with the additional games.
Forest still have a few gaps to fill, with further ins and outs on the cards before the window closes. Clubs have until 7pm on September 1 to get their business done.
Prior to his team’s opening-day win over Brentford, Nuno admitted to being concerned about the make-up of his squad. His preference was for the Reds to make singings early on, to give players the opportunity to forge relationships.
He had said: "The plans that we had didn't come through. The preparation in terms of squad was not ideal. We didn't have a chance to create the bond - and this is what I think is more important.
"Because we don't know which squad we have. We have players working here that know they're going to leave on loan. We have a major problem."
Since then, Forest have welcomed a flurry of additions with Douglas Luiz becoming the most recent arrival Trentside. Below, NottinghamshireLive rounds up the Reds’ transfer business to date.
