Tottenham Hotspur are ready to go to new heights to sign Savinho from Manchester City.

The North London club have been pursuing the winger for the last two weeks, and the deal is still alive after Spurs made contact with Man City for Savinho on Thursday after seeing their latest £69m bid rejected for the Brazilian star.

Daniel Levy planned to meet with Man City’s hierarchy on Saturday when the two clubs met at the Etihad Stadium, where the Spurs chairman intended to make his intentions to sign the winger clear.

Everyone at Tottenham thinks Savinho is going to become a superstar, hence why they are stubbornly pursuing the 21-year-old; however, Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that the North London club are ready to go to new heights to land the Man City star.

Tottenham ready to break transfer record to sign Savinho

Savinho is open to joining Tottenham as he believes the move will guarantee him a starting position throughout the 2025/26 season ahead of the World Cup next summer, with the 21-year-old hoping to be part of the Brazil squad.

However, Man City are currently blocking Savinho’s exit, and to make the Manchester club change their stance, Tottenham are ready to spend over €70m (£60.5m), reports Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs are now ready to go above the £60.5m mark during the final week of the summer transfer window, and it is said that they will try until the very end. Romano reiterates that Savinho is keen to join Tottenham, but the deal lies in the hands of Manchester City.

🚨⚪️ Confirmed: Tottenham want to go over €70m for Savinho and will try until the end to get the deal done.

This would see Tottenham do something they have never done before, as the North London club have not spent over £60m on a player in their history, with Dominic Solanke being their record signing, who was acquired from Bournemouth last summer for an initial £55m.

Man City want £76m to part ways with Savinho, and if Spurs are to match this asking price, the 21-year-old will become the North London club’s new record signing.

Players to play for both Man City and Tottenham

If Savinho does complete a move to Tottenham, the Brazilian will become only the eighth player to play for both clubs.

The 21-year-old will join a list of Kyle Walker, Joe Hart, Michael Brown, Emmanuel Adebayor, Vedran Corluka and Ben Thatcher.

Walker’s spell at both clubs stands out above all the rest, having spent nine seasons at Man City, which followed eight campaigns with Tottenham.

If Tottenham can complete the signing of Savinho, it would be a big deal for the North London club and the Premier League, but it is also a transfer on which Manchester City need to make a final decision quickly, as Pep Guardiola will need a replacement for the 21-year-old.
