Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham ready to make final £60m+ bid to sign ‘unbelievable’ star

Tottenham are prepared to make an improved offer for Manchester City forward Savinho following Arsenal’s hijack of their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The North London side remain keen on signing the 21-year-old Brazil international ahead of the transfer deadline and are expected to make another bid to test City’s resolve.

Pep Guardiola’s side have rebuffed all approaches from Spurs for Savinho in the last 10 days and have no intention of letting the ‘unbelievable’ forward depart with just over a week of the market left.

Tottenham are believed to be willing to improve their offer to over €70m (£60m) following their 2-0 victory over Man City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, which saw Thomas Frank’s side continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

According to Romano, Tottenham will ‘give one more try’ in their pursuit of Savinho after seeing all their approaches rebuffed by Man City in the last two weeks.

Savinho has missed the start of the 2025/26 season after picking up an injury in pre-season and is expected to return around the September international break.

The 21-year-old forward made 48 appearances for Man City last term following his move from Girona, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists.

He started 21 Premier League games in his debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium, with his only goal coming in the 2-0 win at Leicester in December.

Tottenham remain on the lookout for late attacking reinforcements following Eze’s decision to snub their long-standing interest and join Arsenal in a reported £68m move.

Frank’s side are eyeing new signings after former captain Son Heung-min’s departure to Los Angeles FC and James Maddison’s ACL injury, which could sideline him for the entire 2025/26 campaign.

Spurs were also without Dejan Kulusevski, who is recovering from a long-term knee injury, for their 2-0 win at Man City, as well as Radu Dragusin, Destiny Udogie and Yves Bissouma.
