Sky Sports: Leeds frontrunners to sign ‘unpredictable’ forward, ready to pay £30m asking price

Leeds United have set their sights on Strasbourg's 22-year-old winger Dilane Bakwa, with the newly-promoted side leading the race ahead of Nottingham Forest for his signature, as per Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The Daniel Farke-led side have already made nine new additions to their side in the hopes of bridging the gap from being Championship champions to a Premier League side. Additions that cover all areas of the pitch, the Yorkshire-sides business appears not to be done yet.

Having added Noah Okafor from AC Milan to their side, a player who resides on the left-hand side of the pitch, they now appear to be wanting to add further attacking additions to their collection, but for the right-hand side, with the unpredictable winger's next destination looking most likely to be Leeds.

Having positively started their Premier League campaign, owing to a 1-0 win against Everton, Farke's team will hope it is a sign of things to come, with fellow promoted sides Burnley and Sunderland having also won games since their return to the top flight.

Already earmarked for a relegation battle, owing to their status as a promoted side, the additions Leeds have made have set them in good standing to fight the battle head-on. Now dipping their toes in the French market for incomings, Sacha Tavolieri reports that Leeds now lead the way for Dilane Bakwa, a player who was previously linked to Nottingham Forest.

Plying his trade in Ligue 1, the 22-year-old winger has been platformed by Bordeaux and Strasbourg so far. Having recorded back-to-back seasons with 14 goal contributions in just over 30 outings in all competitions on both occasions, following an assist on the opening day of the Ligue 1 season, Leeds have decided he is the one who should walk into Elland Road next.

An exciting talent who can operate on the right-hand side of the pitch, whether as a winger or even full-back on the odd occasion, Bakwa can also play his game in the middle of the park. A versatile player that Farke would love to have, it would take €35m for the transfer to take place, if Sacha Tavolieri's report is to be believed.
