Arsenal defeated Leeds United 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to claim their second win of the new season.

The Gunners’ victory was fueled by a brace from Viktor Gyokeres and another from defender Jurrien Timber, with Bukayo Saka also joining the scoresheet before being forced off with a hamstring injury.

The Gunners controlled the tempo of the match throughout the full 90 minutes to bag their first big win of the new Premier League campaign.

According to Arsenal legend Ian Wright, the key to the Gunners’ success lies in their ability to win all their home games.

“If you’re trying to win the Premier League, you have to win all of your home games,” Wright said on Premier League Productions.

Wright praised Arsenal’s patience in the match, noting that Leeds United came to frustrate, but ultimately, it was a “run-of-the-mill” win for his former club.

Arsenal will take on Liverpool in their next match, a test that will determine whether the Gunners can maintain their fine start to the season.

With Bukayo Saka, who has always delivered in big matches, out injured and not likely to make the squad, Mikel Arteta will need to find a suitable replacement to maintain the team’s attacking prowess.

The fixture against Liverpool next weekend will be Arsenal’s second big game away from home.

The Gunners defeated Manchester United 1:0 at Old Trafford in their opening match of the new campaign and will hope to replicate that form against Liverpool at Anfield as they hope to challenge again for the Premier League title for the fourth consecutive year.
