AS Roma are eyeing a move for Liverpool’s Konstantinos Tsimikas, according to multiple claims from Italy.
Earlier this summer, the Reds signed Milos Kerkez, who started in the Community Shiled and in their league win over West Ham United. Andrew Robertson replaced him in the second half last weekend.
This shows Tsimikas is behind Kerkez and Robertson in the pecking order and is unlikely to get regular opportunities at Liverpool this season.
Sunday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport claims Roma’s Anass Salah-Eddine isn’t part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans. He’s been training alone while the search is ongoing to find a new club.
The Serie A club plan to replace him with the Greece international, who is ‘on his way out’ of Liverpool. Their plan is to sign him on a loan deal in this window.
Another Italian newspaper, Gazzetta dello Sport, reports Roma are willing to sign Tsimikas on loan with an option to buy and have already started discussions with Arne Slot’s side.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio also reports the Giallorossi have made contact with the Premier League winners for the fullback.
He claims the ‘deal isn’t easy’, but Gasperini’s side are trying to find out if they can secure the 29-year-old’s services. Roma will have better clarity on their chances next week.
