How Manchester United Have Lined-up Recently
The Red Devils lined up in their usual 3-4-2-1 formation in the season’s opener, with Altay Bayindir in goal. A three man defence of Lény Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt and Luke Shaw were flanked by wing-backs Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu. Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes served as midfield anchors, with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo in the number 10 positions behind false 9 Mason Mount, who interchanged effectively with the Brazilian and the Cameroonian in-game.

Manchester United Recent Form and Tactics
Despite the loss, there were plenty of signs for encouragement for Manchester United against Arsenal, especially in offensive areas of the field. Cunha and Mbuemo, expensive summer acquisitions from Wolves and Brentford respectively, did an excellent job of bringing the team up the field in order to sustain attacks and threat that seemed beyond the team last season. Mount, back in the fold after another injury-hit campaign last time out, excelled as a roaming false 9, setting the press, running himself into the ground off the ball and combining neatly in and around the box.

Defensively, the back three were solid, although goalkeeper Bayindir’s uncertainty from an Arsenal corner resulted in the only goal of the game going against the hosts. As of the now, it is in midfield where Amorim really requires reinforcements, with an ageing Casemiro and an ineffective Manuel Ugarte the specialists in the position.
