**Newcastle United have been credited with an interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jorgen Strand Larsen in recent weeks.**
While a move for Yoane Wissa stalls, Newcastle have been casting their net wider in a bid to bring in a centre-forward for a tricky season ahead.
While Wolves only completed the permanent transfer of Jorgen Strand Larsen this summer after a successful loan spell last season, the Magpies have been weighing up a move for the Norwegian.
It always felt like a difficult deal to do, given that Wolves had just signed the 25-year-old, but the rumour refused to go away.

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has moved to put the blockers on any chance of a Strand Larsen exit, however, telling TalkSPORT's Alex Crook that their main striker is going nowhere.
> "Vitor Pereira told me after the game that #Wolves need three new players between now and the end of the transfer window. Also said they could not afford to lose #NUFC target Strand-Larsen."
With so little time left in the window, Wolves surely can't afford to lose a player while they still need to recruit three. Adding a fourth, especially a striker, simply won't happen. Newcastle know better than anyone how hard it is to find a centre forward this summer.
The Yoane Wissa move doesn't appear to be dead just yet, despite Craig Hope's claims of a deadline of Friday night having been set by Newcastle to get a definitive answer from Brentford on Wissa's future.
Alexander Sorloth has said he wants to leave Atletico Madrid, which could give Newcastle hope that there's a striker available, but as yet no move has been made for Jorgen Strand Larsen's fellow Norwegian.
There's just over a week to go, and Newcastle are becoming increasingly desperate day by day. At least Newcastle fans are.
