The 26-year-old admitted he was thrilled to join such a historic Brazilian side and even cited former striker Víctor Aristizábal, a Colombian idol at Cruzeiro, as a source of inspiration. _“The expectation is big. I come with a lot of hope to achieve great things. Victor was a great player at Cruzeiro. I hope to score many goals, play well, enjoy the fans, show my football. I have the hunger to play with this shirt and to win big things,”_ he said.

Sinisterra was accompanied by his family and agent Simone Rondanini. Present at the event were Pedro Lourenço, the club’s SAF owner, and vice-president Pedro Junio.

Lourenço admitted it was a personal dream to bring in a Colombian forward. _“I had a dream of having a Colombian in our team. I want a Colombian who attacks, who runs a lot. I want to thank Sinisterra. It was a very difficult negotiation, bringing a player from the Premier League is not easy. It took several days, but we insisted because we knew this was the player we needed,”_ he explained.

The winger, who will wear the No.17 shirt, also made it clear that the 2026 World Cup is part of his medium-term goals. _“The World Cup is an objective I have in the medium term. Now, I want to adapt as quickly as possible, be with the team as soon as I can and stand out to be with the national team at the World Cup. It’s an objective I have clear in my mind and in my future,”_ Sinisterra said.

He also thanked fans for the warm reception he has already received since landing in Belo Horizonte. _“The reception, the affection, the warmth from the fans, it was incredible, full of satisfaction for me and my family. I hope to have many joys. I will work hard for this badge and this shirt,”_ he stressed.

[Vice-president Pedro Junio went further into the details of the deal](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/times/cruzeiro/noticia/2025/08/22/vice-do-cruzeiro-revela-obrigacao-de-compra-de-sinisterra-e-nega-proposta-por-jardim-nao-preocupa.ghtml), confirming that Cruzeiro have taken Sinisterra on loan until June 2026, but with an obligation to buy half of his economic rights. _“It was a loan negotiation with the obligation to buy 50% of his rights. We also have some targets to gradually buy more percentages over the course of his contract. It was a negotiation within Cruzeiro’s conditions and very advantageous for the clubs and for the athlete,”_ he told reporters.

Finally, Sinisterra addressed his fitness after recent injury setbacks, insisting he is now in good shape. _“I had a difficult year, but now I feel very good, as I said before. I am evolving a lot. I hope to be in the best condition as quickly as possible to help the team, that’s one of the objectives I have in mind. I feel good. We’ll start working with everyone to stay healthy and play many matches,”_ he declared.

Sinisterra’s arrival closes a long-running saga and delivers the kind of high-profile signing Cruzeiro had been looking for since the start of the window.

Now, both player and club are eager for him to hit the ground running.
