Manchester United are reportedly expecting Senne Lammens' £17million transfer to become official 'imminently', according to reports. The Red Devils have moved to address their goalkeeping department after a concerning first two years at the club for Andre Onana.
Number-two Altay Bayindir stepped in for Onana on the opening day of the season against Arsenal, with the Cameroon stopper returning from an injury, but he made a costly error for the only goal of the game and questions have been posed over who will play away to Fulham on Sunday.
Both goalkeepers, and veteran Tom Heaton, can now face increased pressure for their positions as The Guardian claim that Lammens is set to finalise a move to Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old will miss Royal Antwerp's match with Mechelen on Sunday in anticipation of a summer transfer.
Lammens is expected to compete with Onana for the top jersey at United, who is planning to stay at the club despite interest from Saudi Arabia. He will also miss several matches in the winter because of his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Belgian Under-21 international is likely to earn a similar wage to Bayindir's £80,000-a-week.
