Borussia Dortmund agrees to sign Chelsea duo in a double swoop

Borussia Dortmund have reached full agreement with Chelsea for Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino, according to Sky Sport DE in Germany.

Chukwuemeka is set to join Dortmund permanently for a fee worth €25 million, and Anselmino is joining on loan with no option to buy until the summer of 2026, with both players expected to fly to Germany today to complete their moves.

The 21-year-old joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in the summer of 2022 for €18m on a six-year contract and has not been able to establish himself at Stamford Bridge.

He made 32 appearances for the Blues, scoring two goals and providing one assist during his time at the Bridge.

The England international was loaned to Dortmund in the winter transfer window of 2025 until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent.

He scored once in 17 appearances for the German giants and was part of the squad that flew out to America for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

The Yellow Wall wanted to retain the Englishman, with him being keen on staying at Signal Iduna Park, but did not activate the option to buy, as they wanted to negotiate with Chelsea on a different term.

Anselmino joined Chelsea from Boca Juniors in the summer of 2024 for £15.6m; he remained with the Argentinian giants on loan until he was recalled in January.

The Argentine made his debut for the Blues in a 4-1 win against Benfica in the Club World Cup, with his side eventually finishing as champions.
