Manchester City suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The Citizens had impressed during their 4-0 win over Wolves in their opening match of the Premier League season, but goals from Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha earned Thomas Frank’s side an impressive win at The Etihad.
Pep Guardiola had once again selected James Trafford, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Tijjani Reijnders in his starting line-up for the visit of Spurs, but City were unable to find the net and ultimately slumped to a disappointing defeat.
In the wake of the match, it has emerged that City have agreed personal terms with one of the world’s best goalkeepers.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma has agreed terms with the Citizens.
The Italian has established himself as one of the world’s best ‘keepers in recent seasons, but he is set to leave Paris following the arrival of Lucas Chevalier, who has usurped him as first choice.

Romano claims that the 26-year-old is keen to join City and work under Guardiola, with talks between the Premier League giants and PSG now underway.
Initially PSG had been demanding a fee in the region of £43 million for the Italy international, but Romano claims that the fee is now likely to be less than that amount.
It is also claimed that the potential deal will depend on the future of current City ‘keeper Ederson, who hasn’t been involved in either of their two league games so far this term and is a target for Turkish champions Galatasaray.
Donnarumma joined PSG from boyhood club AC Milan back in 2021 and has since made more than 160 appearances for the club across all competitions, keeping 56 clean sheets and conceding 156 goals.
