Report: New sticking point emerges in Leeds and Valencia talks as Largie Ramazani pushes for exit

A potential sticking point in the deal to take winger Largie Ramazani to Spain has emerged as Leeds United look to offload their wantaway man.

Largie Ramazani looks set to leave Leeds United in the summer transfer window after failing to establish himself under Daniel Farke.

Ramazani joined Leeds ahead of the 2024/25 season, but was a peripheral figure in the Whites’ promotion season as Farke used him predominantly from the bench as an impact sub.

Now, Leeds’ move to sign Noah Okafor appears to have pushed Ramazani closer to the exit, with Carlos Corberan chasing a deal to take him to Valencia. However, a new sticking point has emerged in the negotiations, as the Belgian winger looks to move on to pastures new.

According to a report by the Spanish publication Marca, talks between Leeds and Valencia can “move forward”, after the deal was initially disclosed by journalist Nacho Sanchis.

Marca reports that Ramazani is keen on the move, and Hugo Guillamon’s move from Valencia to Hajduk Split will help create space in Corberan’s squad.

However, the inclusion of a purchase option in the deal could be an issue, given the size of Ramazani’s contract. The report states: “In recent hours, various triggers have been activated to allow the deal to move forward, as MARCA has been able to confirm”

Before adding: “Ramazani now hopes Valencia and Leeds can reach an agreement on the cost of that loan, in addition to the significant detail of including a purchase option (due to the cost and the player’s own contract).

Departing Leeds man can rediscover his best form in La Liga

Ramazani has endured a frustrating time at Elland Road, as he was forced to watch the majority of Leeds’ promotion season from the sidelines.

The former Manchester United product started just seven times in the Championship last season, in 29 appearances, but still managed six goals and two assists.

Ramazani showed his exceptional talent in flashes at Leeds. A move back to Spain could be the perfect chance for him to rediscover his very best form.
