Real Betis prepare fresh offer for Antony, second transfer proposal for Man Utd flop expected in the next 24 hours

Real Betis are not giving up on its pursuit to re-sign Antony from Manchester United this summer.

Despite Ruben Amorim telling five Manchester United players they no longer have a future at Old Trafford, four of them remain at the club.

Only Marcus Rashford secured a move away from United, after joining Barcelona on loan until the end of the season. The other players in exile at the Theatre of Dreams include Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.

However, it seems like there has been another player added to the so-called ‘bomb squad’, with Rasmus Hojlund set to be left out of the squad to face Fulham in the Premier League.

Hojlund was an absentee when United suffered a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal on the opening weekend of the season. Now, he’s set to miss out on another game, casting more doubt over his future at the club.

Ineos are working hard to offload these players, but only time will tell if any appropriate offers arrive before deadline day.

Antony set for fresh offer from Real Betis

After impressing on loan at Real Betis, Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that they want Antony back this season.

Real Betis have thus far been unable to reach an agreement with United after their initial attempt at a loan deal earlier this summer was dismissed.

United want to get rid of Antony on a permanent deal and the same applies to fellow outcasts Garnacho, Sancho and Malacia because none of them are part of Ruben Amorim’s plans.

Antony did not start a single Premier League match for United before joining Real Betis on loan. That was before the Brazil international established himself as a star under Pellegrini, scoring five league goals and registering two assists.

That explains why Real Betis are not giving up on Antony.

According to the Daily Mail, Real Betis are planning to issue a new proposal to re-sign Antony on Monday.

It remains to be seen if United will have any interest in doing business with Real Betis, unless a permanent solution is offered.

Fenerbahce have also emerged as a potential suitor for Antony.

Antony could suffer from a lack of pre-season preparations

Amorim told Antony and other outcasts to train away from United’s first team group this summer.

While some of these players continued to train at Carrington, albeit on their own, they missed key preparations for the new season, and that will likely have an impact on each of them this season.

That is the price Antony and others will pay for not securing a move earlier in the transfer window.

Of course, Real Betis must take responsibility for this too. They’ve known Antony’s price since the end of last season.
