Chelsea star could be allowed to leave

Chelsea will hope to continue their strong start to the season when they host West London rivals Fulham on Saturday.

The Blues started the season with a draw against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, before cruising to a 5-1 victory at West Ham United on Friday night.

Enzo Maresca’s side welcome the Cottagers to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, before games against Brentford and Manchester United.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the Blues could allow one of their young stars to depart the club before the end of the current transfer window.

As reported by CaughtOffside, the London giants could still allow winger Tyrique George to depart Stamford Bridge prior to the close of the window.

The report claims that Chelsea are not against the idea of keeping hold of the 19-year-old, but they could also decide to allow him leave either on loan or permanently if a suitable offer is received.

George is one of a number of stars to have graduated from Chelsea’s Cobham academy into the first team in recent seasons, and the teenager has now played 26 times for the club across all competitions.

He has scored three times and provided five assists in that time, but it appears that he could still leave SW6 before the end of the month.

It is claimed that German side RB Leipzig are currently showing the most significant interest in the winger, while two unnamed Premier League sides have also enquired about the player recently.

Leipzig are set to be preparing an offer in the region of £13 million for George, who hasn’t featured for Chelsea in the Premier League so far this term.

The teenager’s contract with his boyhood club is set to run until the end of the 2026/27 season.
