Chelsea midfielder set for£20 million Bundesliga move

Chelsea will hope to build in their win over West Ham United when they host Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues face sides from London in each of their first five games of the new campaign, and head coach Enzo Maresca will expect to see his side pick up all three points against the Cottagers.

The Italian handed a full Premier League debut to youngster Estevao Willian against the Hammers, after Cole Palmer was withdrawn in the warm-up, and the Brazilian provided an assist at The London Stadium.

Maresca will hope to see his side impress once again against Fulham, but in the meantime it appears that one member of his squad is set for a move to Germany.

According to Fabrizio Romano, midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka is set to complete a move to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

The journalist claims that the Englishman is set to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of a £21.6 million move.

Chukwuemeka, 21, joined the Blues from Aston Villa back in 2022 and has since played 32 times for the West London side across all competitions, scoring twice.

He was sent on loan to Dortmund in February, and played 17 times for the German side during his spell there.

Romano claims that he is set to return to the German club on a permanent basis, with the deal set to include a significant sell-on clause.

Chukwuemeka is currently contracted to Chelsea until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but it appears that he has already played his final game for the club with a move to Dortmund pending.

The versatile player is able to operate in a number of roles, including as a central midfielder or in a more advanced attacking midfield role.
