BEREA -- The Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL must trim their rosters from 90 to a maximum of 53 players by 4 pm. on Tuesday, Aug. 26. The Browns, like other teams, will have some tough decisions to make.
After the final preseason game with the Rams, The Greetham Angle is going to project who we think will be on the initial 53-man roster. Teams always make waiver claims from other teams or other roster moves over the next couple of days before they finalize their own rosters. The Browns, like the rest of the NFL, can also formulate a 16-player practice squad. Historically, many of the players the Browns add to the practice squad are players that were with the Browns in training camp. However, some players decide to join another team's practice squad, if they see a better opportunity for them. In effect, the roster cut from 90 ends up closer from 90 to 69.
