Former No. 2 overall draft pick Carson Wentz bet on himself, electing to become a free agent after spending one season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs were Wentz’s fifth team in nine seasons, and the veteran quarterback has continued looking for his next NFL home.
A workout could provide clues about the quarterback’s fit for one NFC team.
Analyst Lindsey Thiry noted which NFL franchise brought Wentz in for an extended look over the weekend.
“QB Carson Wentz is working out for the Vikings today, per source,” Thiry revealed on X.

Wentz’s potential fit with the Minnesota Vikings is obvious.
The NFC North squad has J.J. McCarthy as the starting quarterback, but the 22-year-old rookie has looked like the only viable signal-caller on Minnesota’s roster.
Backup Sam Howell has been shaky at best thus far, and analysts have suggested that undrafted rookie Max Brosmer has outplayed his veteran counterpart thus far.
Wentz served as a backup for much of the past two seasons, making only two starts in five combined appearances with the Los Angeles Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Previously, Wentz was a full-time starter in the league, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a 35-32-1 record in five seasons with the NFC East franchise.
After departing Philly, Wentz started every game for the Indianapolis Colts during the 2021 season, finishing with a 9-8 mark during that lone season with the AFC South squad.
His last extended starting role came during the 2022 season, going 2-5 with the Washington Commanders during his eight-game stint with his former NFC East rivals.
