"I can guarantee..." - Fabrizio Romano shares fresh Jadon Sancho exit update out of Man Utd

Manchester United are still heavily pushing for Jadon Sancho to leave the club amid interest from Serie A side Roma, says GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano.

The English winger is one of a number of United players, along with the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia, who are surplus to requirements and are expected to depart the club before the summer transfer deadline ends.

It was reported earlier this week by Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio that Roma were still pushing for the United outcast's signature, with Sancho having participated in multiple calls with the Giallorossi head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, but the 25-year-old was said to be evaluating other options, which were not particularly concrete.

Sancho has just under one year left on his contract with the Red Devils, but the club are incredibly keen on offloading him this summer instead of waiting for his deal to expire.

Manchester United Still Pushing for Sancho Sale

According to Romano, Manchester United are still pushing hard for Jadon Sancho to leave the club "as soon as possible" due to not being in head coach Ruben Amorim's plans.

Although a move to Serie A side, Roma, looked to still be on the cards for Sancho earlier in the week, that deal now looks incredibly likely, following public comments from the Italian side's sporting director, Frederic Massara, claiming that although the club still have admiration for the player, the 25-year-old does not want to go.

Romano has claimed that despite the recent breakdown between Sancho and Roma, the Red Devils still want the English winger out the door "as soon as possible," and it is believed that United would accept an offer in the region of £20m, which is the sum Roma were offering and pushing to get a deal done with.

Romano said:

"Now the director of Roma goes public, says that Sancho doesn't want to go. I can guarantee to you that Manchester United are still pushing for Jadon Sancho to go as soon as possible. Roma were offering £20m, so United for that money sell the player. United are trying to find a solution as soon as possible for Sancho, because they don't want the player to stay at the club, and so they are pushing and pushing to find a solution as soon as possible for Jadon Sancho."

Sancho hasn't featured for United in the Premier League since the 2023/2024 campaign, where he made just three appearances in the first half of the season before re-joining Borussia Dortmund on loan in the second half of the season.

Despite enjoying a relatively successful spell on loan with United's fellow Premier League club, Chelsea, last season, the Stamford Bridge side turned down the opportunity to make his stay permanent after failing to reach a breakthrough in contract negotiations.

With just over one week left in the European summer transfer window, time is running out for both Sancho and United to sort a deal out, but the Englishman's wage demands could prove to make that a tough task.
