'Major'development in Lammens transfer as Man United move draws closer

Senne Lammens has been left out of the Royal Antwerp squad for Sunday's league game against Mechelen, with the goalkeeper's move to Manchester United allegedly on the verge of completion.

The 23-year-old has emerged as Man United's leading goalkeeper target this month, but it is understood that he has been tracked by the Red Devils for the best part of 18 months.

Lammens was a notable absentee when the Antwerp side for Sunday's fixture was announced.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the decision to leave the goalkeeper out of the squad comes as Man United near a move for the Belgian.

Romano claims that personal terms between the two parties have already been agreed, while Man United and Antwerp are said to be close when it comes to settling on a transfer fee for the highly-rated stopper.

Lammens absent from Antwerp squad ahead of expected Man United transfer

According to GIVEMESPORT, talks between Man United and Antwerp are now at an advanced stage, although there is still a small difference when it comes to the valuations of the two clubs.

Man United are believed to be looking to pay £17m, while Antwerp want £20m, but an agreement should be found in the near future to allow the goalkeeper to join the Red Devils.

Lammens has featured on 64 occasions for Antwerp, keeping 12 clean sheets in the process, and he is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Belgian football.

However, it is not certain that he will be the number one at Old Trafford, as Andre Onana is expected to remain with the Red Devils despite his struggles during his two seasons in Manchester.

Will Onana or Bayindir start against Fulham?

Man United head coach Ruben Amorim has a major decision to make when it comes to the goalkeeping spot for Sunday's Premier League clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Altay Bayindir was given the nod between the sticks against Arsenal last weekend, but the Turkey international made a mistake which led to the Gunners scoring the only goal of the match.

Onana missed pre-season with a hamstring issue, but the Cameroonian has now had a full week of training, and Amorim is believed to be leading towards starting him over Bayindir at Craven Cottage.
