Newcastle United are plotting a potential transfer for Axel Disasi before the deadline, according to reports.
The centre-back looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer - with the Magpies one of the clubs said to be showing an interest. However, they face competition from other sides, including Serie A side Napoli and Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Caught Offside reckon that Chelsea are looking for a fee in the region of £30million for the player this summer. He spent the second half of last season on loan with Aston Villa, but also struggled to establish himself as a regular in Unai Emery's starting XI.
He's yet to make an appearance in a matchday squad in either of Chelsea's two Premier League matches - so far this campaign. Disasi is expected to move on from the club before next Monday's deadline.
With Champions League football back at St James' Park this season, manager Eddie Howe is keen to continue to strengthen his squad before the end of the window.
But while he has struggled for regular game-time in recent months, Disasi has, previously, earned praise for his performances. Back in February last year, Sky Sports' pundit Jamie Carragher compared the defender to Chelsea legend John Terry following his display in a 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

"I can't remember a better defensive performance this season, certainly from a central defender," he said on Sky Sports.
"Coming away to Manchester City, playing against the best striker in the world.
"He was brilliant. He was the man-of-the-match.
"I don't think I said it on air, but he was the best player on the pitch.
"That was the type of performance you'd see from centre-backs from about 15-20 years ago. Now, we see them more build up from the back, stepping in, but this was a bit of a throwback.
"Backs against the wall, throwing yourself in front of things, every time the ball comes in you feel like a magnet to get your head on it. I'm talking about Chelsea, that was a John Terry performance, and I can't give any higher praise than that."
