Manchester United Line Up Announced VS Fulham

Manchester United have announced their line-up ahead of today’s game at Fulham.

Ruben Amorim has mostly kept faith with the same team that performed well in last week’s Premier League opener with Arsenal, in spite of the setback of defeat at Old Trafford.

United have a good track record of late winners at Craven Cottage, most recently benefitting thanks to Lisandro Martinez’s strike last winter.

Both sides enter the game under very different pressures: Fulham are looking to build momentum after a steady start to the campaign, while United and new manager Ruben Amorim are already feeling the weight of expectation following an opening-day defeat to Arsenal.

United’s summer business has reshaped their attack, with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Šeško all in contention to start. The visitors will again be without Lisandro Martínez and Noussair Mazraoui through injury, but André Onana is fit and could return in goal. Bruno Fernandes remains central to Amorim’s plans, tasked with supplying the movement of the new forward line.

Fulham, meanwhile, will look to test United’s still-developing defensive structure. Marco Silva’s side are well-drilled at home and will hope that their attacking outlets can exploit any gaps left by United’s adventurous wing-backs. The London side have made no major signings or no major sales so far this summer, although it was reported that Andreas Pereira, the former United forward, could depart Craven Cottage this summer – and if he does, United stand to net a 20% sell on fee.

For Amorim, the match feels significant. A positive performance would ease mounting scrutiny and underline progress in his project. For Fulham, it’s an opportunity to claim another high-profile scalp and prove they can trouble the top clubs. The stage is set for an open and competitive contest

The match is live on Sky Sports at 4.30pm.
