Liverpool are among three clubs reportedly interested in Fluminense's young midfielder Isaque, despite the 18 year old only recently making his first-team debut. The teenager is highly regarded by the Brazilian outfit, having shown promise while progressing through their youth system.
Brazilian media outlet Globo has labelled him a 'gem'. The same source suggests that both Liverpool and Manchester City have expressed interest in the player, but neither club has yet made an official bid to Fluminense.
However, the club has turned down a €7 million (£6m) offer from Ukrainian team Shakhtar Donetsk. It is unknown how much Flumenense will want if they are to sell this summer.
Isaque committed his future to Fluminense earlier this year, signing a new contract in February that keeps him at the club until 2029. He was instrumental for the club's U17 side, who clinched both the Copa do Brasil and the U17 championships last season.
He also contributed six goals and four assists, playing a key role in securing the U17 Brazil Cup.
Discussing potential transfers this week, Liverpool manager Arne Slot indicated that the club would be open to bringing in more players if the right opportunity presents itself before the transfer window closes.
"I've always said that having two for each position is ideal but I prefer less than more because then you have to disappoint so many players every time and they're not even in the squad, let alone playing," he stated.
"As always, if we think we can improve in a certain position and there's a player available who can really make us better – which you could see with Giovanni Leoni – then this club has always shown that they can bring these players in, but only if things are right – the right transfer fee, the right player, the right position, and a player who wants to come to us."
