Everton ushered in the new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with a 2-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
David Moyes suffered defeat against Leeds United on the opening day of the season courtesy of Lukas Nmecha’s late penalty.
However, the atmosphere was electric inside the Hill Dickinson Stadium as the Blues started their first Premier League match in the new stadium, and the hosts delivered with a bang.
Iliman Ndiaye etched his name into Everton history as he scored the first goal at the waterfront arena before James Garner doubled the lead with a stunning strike in the second half.

Losing against newly promoted opposition in the first week was disappointing, but with three points under his belt, Moyes now knows three players who must start in the trip to Wolves.
Jack Grealish thrives in his first Everton start
While the goalscorers took all the plaudits at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the most effective player on the pitch by a considerable margin was Jack Grealish.
Grealish delivered on his message to the supporters as he assisted both goals on the day and single-handedly raised the bar for his teammates.

Kiernan-Dewsbury Hall looks comfortable as the number 10
Everton supporters slammed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after a rather ineffective display last time out against Leeds, but he issued an emphatic response on Sunday.
Dewsbury-Hall was influential playing in the number 10 role, handball aside, and was the main orchestrator in the middle of the pitch for the Blues.

Indeed, his league debut left a lot to be desired, but he, too, has a point to prove at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after an underwhelming spell at Chelsea, and the new boys are certainly making their point known.
Seamus Coleman needs to return for Everton
Jake O’Brien started at right-back on the day, albeit it is not his preferred position, but he was virtually non-existent against Brighton.
It was a long afternoon for the Republic of Ireland international as he found himself on the losing side of the battle against Kaoru Mitoma.

And although Seamus Coleman spent the majority of last season on the sidelines, he was named to the substitutes’ bench on Sunday. As the trip to Wolves next will be a real test of whether the Blues can kick on this season, his teammates would undoubtedly benefit from his leadership on the pitch.
