It took a late penalty from Leeds on Monday night to secure all three points at Elland Road. But during the incident when the penalty was given, Jamie O’Hara called for Jordan Pickford to be ‘banned’ for his actions.
“Jordan Pickford, the water bottle situation right, he goes to his water bottle, it’s obviously got a lot of information written on it, I’m not having that.
“I think that needs to be knocked on the head, I think it has got to be banned.”
“I think you’ve got to ban anything being written on the water bottles.”
The England keeper delayed the penalty, reading the instructions on his water bottle to deny the penalty taker. Nmecha scored on Monday night, but Danny Welbeck had his effort saved as Brighton fell to the Toffees on Sunday.
Water bottles are not illegal
There is nothing in the rule book against putting instructions on water bottle. The only thing Jordan Pickford is guilty of sometimes is delaying the penalty kicks which is a different infringement on its own. Jamie O’Hara really needs to stop complaining about this.
