Leicester City are set to make a loan move with an obligation-to-buy worth £13m for Metz wonderkid Idrissa Gueye, according to The Sun.
Leicester City have made just one addition since their drop from the Premier League, but with the transfer window ticking down, the Foxes finally appear ready to act. So far, the only arrival is veteran goalkeeper Asmir Begović.
The 38-year-old, who previously worked under Martí Cifuentes at QPR, is unlikely to be more than a backup option at the King Power Stadium. Cifuentes inherited a squad with plenty of depth, meaning meaningful signings were always dependent on outgoings.

Mads Hermansen has secured a Premier League return with West Ham, Wilfred Ndidi has ended his eight-year stay to join Besiktas, and Conor Coady has dropped to Championship rivals Wrexham. More exits are expected, with Bilal El Khannouss and Abdul Fatawu both linked with moves after Kasey McAteer’s departure.
For Leicester City fans, then, the prospect of fresh arrivals will be welcome news after a quiet summer. One name allegedly on the radar of LCFC is Metz forward Idrissa Gueye, according to The Sun.

The Foxes are prepared to offer Metz an initial loan to secure Gueye’s services. That loan offer would include an obligation-to-buy the wonderkid next summer for a fee of £13m.
Southampton and West Ham United have also been linked with Gueye this summer. The Metz man is already a full Senegal International at just 18 years old.

Jamie Vardy replacement at last for Leicester City?
The striker position has been a real struggle for Leicester City over the years. Many forwards have come in to challenge Jamie Vardy for his spot, for big money, but none have really been a success at LCFC.

Now that Vardy has left the club after so many years of service, it is imperative that they find a replacement. Time looked to be running out to make that move this summer, especially with the lack of funds at the club.
Gueye could be that man, but a lot of pressure will be on his shoulders. The Foxes will hope he can take his good form from France with him to England, should he make the move.

More on rumoured Leicester City target Idrissa Gueye
Gueye began his footballing journey at home with Mbour Sport and Génération Foot before joining FC Metz in January. Despite his age and limited senior experience, it hasn’t taken long for Gueye to turn heads.
Gueye made an instant impact, scoring three times in his first five starts as Metz secured promotion from Ligue 2 via the play-offs. He featured off the bench in all three play-off matches and now looks set to test himself in Ligue 1.
However, with a decent fee involved in Leicester City’s bid, there is every chance the club may decide to cash in before he takes to the French top flight.
