The Minnesota Vikings could use another pass-catcher right now.
Justin Jefferson is dealing with a hamstring injury, and while he’s expected to be fully ready for Week 1, they will still be a little thin there because of Jordan Addison’s multi-game suspension.
The Vikings have been tangled up in multiple trade rumors for a wide receiver for a little over a week now, and Adam Thielen‘s name continues to pop up.
According to Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press, there’s about a 40% chance that he will head back home to the Twin Cities for the start of the season.
“There’s about a 40% chance of WR Adam Thielen returning to the Vikings from Carolina”, per Charley Walters.

The Vikings parted ways with Thielen a couple of years ago.
He hasn’t posted the same numbers with the Carolina Panthers, which makes perfect sense, given his age and their ever-struggling offense.
He’s no longer the player he used to be, but there’s no reason to believe he can’t turn back the clock and give this team a good month or so while Addison returns.
He’s a fan favorite, a homegrown talent, and someone who would gladly head back home for the final stretch of his career if given the opportunity.
Granted, perhaps the team could find someone younger or faster, but Thielen has never relied on his physical tools to do his damage.
Also, he’s more than familiar with Kevin O’Connell’s offensive system, and getting a jumpstart in the offense might be crucial when it comes to adding someone to the team so late in the offseason.
