Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace on Sunday in the Premier League at Selhurst Park in what could be Nuno Espirito Santo's last game as boss.
Palace forward Ismaila Sarr opened the scoring less than 10 minutes from half time after sweeping in a cross from right wing-back Daniel Munoz.
Captain Marc Guehi almost doubled the Eagles' lead in added time, but the defender's header struck the post following a free kick from Adam Wharton.
Forest drew level with their hosts just before the hour mark when Callum Hudson-Odoi latched onto a through ball from Dan Ndoye before striking fiercely at goal.
The game ultimately ended level, and the result leaves Palace in 13th place with two points and Forest in fourth with six points.
SPORTS MOLE'S VERDICT
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo during his side's gam against Crystal Palace, on August 24, 2025
Palace boss Oliver Glasner has expressed his dissatisfaction with the club's transfer business, but it is a credit to the manager that he was able to earn a point against a strong opponent despite having sold talisman Eberechi Eze.
The Eagles were given a difficult start to against Chelsea and Forest in their opening two league fixtures, and a return of two points should be seen as a positive haul.
As for Forest, their defensive resolve was tested in the first half, but they managed to pose more of a challenge in the second half.
A draw against the FA Cup champions would ordinarily be seen as a good result for the visitors, but there is a chance that Sunday's match was boss Nuno Espirito Santo's last given the reported tension with the club behind the scenes.
Forest should be confident of avoiding a relegation battle, but sacking the head coach would be an unnecessary risk at this late stage of the transfer window.
