The New Orleans Saints have one of the least appealing quarterback situations right now.
First-year head coach Kellen Moore can go with either Spencer Rattler or Tyler Shough.
If it were up to Dan Orlovsky, he’d side with the second-year pro.
The former NFL QB took to X to say that the Saints should start Rattler, although he believes Shough will get the nod at some point in the season.
The @Saints should start Rattler
But I would assume Shough starts at some point this season.

Rattler already has one year of NFL experience under his belt, which is something that cannot be overlooked.
Nevertheless, this is the first year under Moore’s system, so he and Shough could be at the same level there.
Rattler was once considered to be a future star, but his struggles in college derailed his once-promising career.
He didn’t look good as a rookie, and his performances in the preseason also left plenty to be desired.
Shough, on the other hand, entered the season as a polarizing and intriguing prospect.
He has a long history of injuries, and he’s much older than the average rookie, but the arm talent is evident.
He has more upside than Rattler, and given his age, the team should be quick to figure out whether he has a future with them or not.
The Saints have plenty of issues to address this season, even if any of their young quarterbacks turn out to be good right out of the gate, which is a big if.
As things stand now, they might get the No. 1 pick in next year’s draft to fix some of those problems.
