Ten, another bad day at the office and optimistic for next Sunday

Damian 24 August 2025

I've watched five matches this weekend and six last weekend and I have to hold my hands up and say there is only one side we will beat at the moment, from the teams I've seen and that is a little worrying.

And I'm putting yesterday down as another bad day at the office and moving on. We just have to hope things get better this week and next weekend against Palace is better. But we all know that Palace isn't a side of late where we've had good results.

But I want to believe that things are going to get better. Sure, the squad is lighter and we do have our hands tied at the moment, probably only able to bring in loan players, but I think we'll get one or two this week and maybe that's what we need, a little fresh blood.

And that's me contradicting myself, but maybe we need it. It worries me also that it might come down to this, but things look stale at the moment, so if a new face or two coming in changes things and gets people playing, lets do it.

That said, I think we have players that if they start, give us options and I know that the players starting are good enough, because I've seen it. But I think some are getting played out of position at the moment and don't think I'm alone in thinking that.

But and I'll write this again, we were not going to win the League this season, so if this is part of a bigger plan, I'm all behind it. And January is going to be the important window for us this season.

This isn't me giving up, it's me trying to accept what things are going to be like this season. Back tomorrow, hopefully.
