Counting down the five worst Wolves shirts of the Premier League era
Wolves were promoted back to the Premier League in 2018 under ex-boss Nuno Espirito Santo, who is now at Nottingham Forest. The Midlands outfit have since established themselves as a top flight club. They are managed by Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira these days.
He was picked as their replacement for Gary O’Neil in the last campaign and managed to keep them up. Survival and avoiding relegation to the Championship is their aim again this season. Here is a look at their five worst kits of the top flight era....
5. 2019/20 Third Kit

Wolves had an all-green third made by Adidas in the 2019/20 season. It had a line pattern across the top with a red and white trim. They strayed away from their traditional gold and black colours and the red and green combination was a strange combination.
They finished the campaign in 7th so their bizarre kit didn’t seem to affect them too much. Covid-19 struck half-way through though which wasn’t ideal. Nevertheless, it didn’t seem to impact on their performances on the pitch which was good.
4. 2020/21 Away Kit

Adidas continued to supply Wolves’ jersey for the 2020/21 term, which was played behind-closed-doors. They wore a pale blue and white away kit which wasn’t too easy on the eye. It had a faint, incomplete looking pattern on the front.
The design was bland and the pattern on it didn’t cover cohesively. It seems to lack style and personality do didn’t live long in the memory. The club finished 13th in the table so slipped down from the year before which was a shame.
3. 2011/12 Away Kit (Burrda)

Wolves were relegated to the Championship in 2012 after finishing rock bottom. To make matters worse, their black away shirt didn’t go down too well. It was created by Burrda and had a bright orange collar and cuffs.
In addition, it had a geometric pattern that didn’t look too clean. The fact they were relegated to the Football League means it isn’t fondly remembered by their supporters. They then had a fair few years in the second tier before eventually clawing themselves back up again.
2. 2003/04 Away Kit

Rewinding back to 2003/04 and Wolves were sponsored by Admiral. They had a basic black away kit with minimal gold across the front. However, it looked too simplistic and the Doritos sponsor ruined it.
Moreover, it would have looked better simply having more gold on the side instead of trying to be too simple. It was their first season in the Premier League and they struggled with the step up. They finished in 20th position so it was a year to forget in all honesty.
1. 2025/26 Third

Wolves appear to have dropped a stinker with their new ‘Brazil inspired’ 2025/26 third shirt. Sudu have gone for a light blue and yellow colour scheme. It then has a strange pattern ingrained on the front.
The design looks out of place and doesn’t really suit the Molineux club. Sudu have taken a gamble and it doesn’t look like it will fly off the shelves. The shorts are white, whereas the goalkeeper jersey is light green, and it is hard to see how it relates to Brazil.
