It was has been a long, strenuous journey for former Alabama defensive back Trevon Diggs, as he’s worked through two major knee injuries in hopes of returning to his All-Pro level with the Dallas Cowboys.
Diggs first tore his ACL during a September practice in 2023, causing him to miss all but two games.
In 2024, Diggs returned to play in 11 games but was shut down after cartilage issues were discovered in the injured knee. He then underwent surgery in January and has been rehabbing ever since.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Diggs checked off a major milestone in his recovery when he passed his recent physical, moving him off the PUP list and on to the Cowboys’ active roster.
Diggs’ head coach had high praise for the time and effort his star defensive back has put in to return to the field.
“I’d be remiss if I didn’t talk about how hard Trevon’s been working. He’s doing an incredible job with Britt (Brown),” Brian Schottenheimer said. “These things don’t happen if he’s not putting in the time and the effort to do the stuff that he’s been doing. Really proud of him.”
