Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said that he selected Altay Bayindir ahead of Andre Onana against Fulham as he felt that the Turkey international would help the Red Devils win the match.
Bayindir was now started back-to-back Premier League matches this season, featuring between the sticks against Arsenal last weekend before keeping his spot for the contest with Fulham.
Onana missed pre-season due to a hamstring issue, but he did have a full week of training ahead of the game at Craven Cottage, and the Cameroon international was still named on the bench.
Amorim has said that he takes a number of factors into consideration when selecting players, and he felt that Bayindir would be best suited to the clash with Fulham.
"I am focused on our goalkeepers. Like every manager I look at the amount of training, what I see in pre-season, in the games and try to decide who is the best goalkeeper to use in a game and I am going to continue to do that," Amorim told BBC Sport when asked about his goalkeeping situation.

Bayindir again started over Onana in Man United's clash with Fulham
Bayindir struggled from corners against Fulham, with the hosts appearing to target him during the set pieces.
When quizzed on whether that was a concern, Amorim said: "You can look at it both sides. We have a goal with a goal kick, we have two situations where we could manage to score, a penalty and the corner kick. In every game in the Premier League, you will always have situations in the corners."
Amorim now has a decision to make for Wednesday's EFL Cup second-round clash against Grimsby Town, with Onana potentially coming in for his first appearance of the season.
Man United are working to sign a new goalkeeper, meanwhile, with Royal Antwerp's Senne Lammens set to make the move to Old Trafford in a deal worth £17m.
However, Onana is still expected to remain with the 20-time English champions this summer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Onana is not interested in a move away from Man United, with the Cameroonian prepared to battle Lammens for the gloves this season.
As a result, a departure for Bayindir before the end of the transfer window is believed to be a possibility despite the fact that he has now started the first two matches of the new campaign.
Lammens was left out of the Antwerp squad for Sunday's league fixture with Mechelen, and he could complete a switch to the 20-time English champions next week.
