Saturday’s loss to Arsenal was a huge wake up call for Leeds United. Daniel Farke’s side realized that it takes slim margins to get results at the top level.
In the Premier League, making mistakes or failing to capitalize on mistakes can lead to your downfall. In Saturday’s game, Leeds were able to hold the Gunners for the first half hour. Mikel Arteta’s side were limited to just half chances in that spell. And then the Whites gave away a corner, and the result was a goal.

Leeds suffered without Ethan Ampadu who picked up an unfortunate injury in the opener against Everton. But now it looks like another player could face a spell on the sidelines.
Daniel Farke revealed that Ao Tanaka also picked up an injury on Saturday:
“After a tackle in the first half, he had problems with his MCL.
“He kept going and I hope it’s not too bad. I hope the assessment is not too bad. There are a few concerns that it would be an injury but it’s normally positive that he could play further on. But we will have to assess him and we will see how long it takes to get him fit and back to full fitness.”
Could Leeds dip into the market this week?
Tanaka has not been fully assessed yet, but if it is anything like Ampadu’s injury, then the Japanese international could be out for a similar period. The club have enough depth on the bench, but could need to add one more midfielder just in case.
There are rumours that Daniel Farke is keen on adding a more creative profile, with Brighton star Facundo Buonanotte a target.
