Manchester United are progressing in their pursuit of goalkeeper Senne Lammens, with Royal Antwerp demanding €25 million.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are advancing in their pursuit of Senne Lammens, as the club are looking to finalise terms with Royal Antwerp and the player. The Belgian side are demanding €25 million, and the move for the talented Belgian stopper is not linked with the future of Andre Onana.
The goalkeeping situation is giving Ruben Amorim sleepless nights, as the club are looking into the market for a solution. Over in the summer, Manchester United were linked with numerous names, including Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez among others, but it appears, 23-year-old Belgian stopper Senne Lammens is their key target as things stand.
Manchester United had been serious about Lammens over the last few weeks, and it appears they are progressing in talks for the stopper. Belgian club Royal Antwerp are demanding €25 million, but the Red Devils are looking to conclude a deal for €20 million with add-ons, as per Fabrizio Romano.
The Great Old are eager to agree terms with the Belgian side as well as Lammens to accelerate the process. The €25 million-rated Belgian might be open to the opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, and given their current situation between the sticks, he might fancy taking over the No.1 spot straight away.
Manchester United did face competition from Inter Milan, among others, for Senne Lammens, but as things stand, they are the clear front-runners for the €25 million-rated Belgian. Whether they get this over the line over the next few days remains the question, as once he arrives, one of their current keepers might depart.
Senne Lammens deal not linked with Andre Onana’s future
The pursuit of Lammens is reportedly unrelated to the future of Andre Onana, as per Romano. The Cameroonian keeper has been in the news with suggestions that Manchester United are pushing him out of the club, with Inter Milan the club currently linked with re-signing the keeper.
However, it appears there are massive challenges ahead for Manchester United to sell Onana, as they do not view Senne Lammens as his replacement, despite reports stating the contrary. Should the Cameroonian stay put after the €25 million-rated Belgian’s arrival, it might be Altay Bayindir who departs before the window shuts.
