Spurs willing to spend more than £60 million on Man City attacker

Tottenham Hotspur are level on points with North London rivals Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table after a 2-0 win against Manchester City in Saturday.

Second half goals from Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha earned Thomas Frank’s side an important victory at the Etihad, with the Lilywhites yet to concede in the league so far this term.

New signing Mohammed Kudus was once again impressive for Spurs, while Palhinha impressed in midfield.

Now, it appears that Tottenham are intent on completing the signing of a Manchester City star.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the North London club are intending to bid in excess of £60 million for Man City winger Savinho, in an attempt to bolster Frank’s squad.

It is claimed that Spurs are hoping to land the Brazilian and will work until the end of the current transfer window to try to agree a deal for the winger, who hasn’t yet featured for City this term.

Romano claims that the 21-year-old is keen on the idea of a move to Tottenham, with the final decision now ultimately up to City.

Savinho joined City from French side Troyes in the summer of 2024 and featured regularly during his debut season in England, making 48 appearances across all competitions.

He scored three times and provided 13 assists for Pep Guardiola’s side last season, but it appears that he could leave The Etihad after just a year with the club.

The Brazil international is under contract at City until the end of the 2028/29 season after signing a long-term deal when joining the club last summer, but it appears that he could depart to join Frank’s squad if an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.
