It was inevitable that it was going to happen, but Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made the move that needed to happen in the quarterback room.
The Eagles announced the released of quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson as he didn't make it a year on the team. Thompson-Robinson was apart of the Kenny Pickett trade in the offseason with the Cleveland Browns.

DTR played in just two games with the Eagles in the preseason. He finished with completing 10 of 16 passes for 73 yards and one interception. The Eagles made the decision to bench him for the last preseason game against the New York Jets, as rookie Kyle McCord played the whole game at quarterback.
What's next for the Eagles in the quarterback room?
It was expected for DTR to lose his job after the Eagles traded for Sam Howell from the Minnesota Vikings. Howell is expected to be the backup for the time being until Tanner McKee can recover from his fractured thumb. No timetable has been set for McKee's return.
McCord is the biggest question as to whether he stays on the active roster or gets cut to be brought back to the practice squad. That may all depend on whether the Eagles put McKee on IR or make some kind of decision on what to do with him.
Howell will at least give the Eagles a veteran that can come in and play at a high level. He will need time to learn the offense, but the hope is Jalen Hurts can stay healthy so it doesn't come to that point. It is important to plan that out, though, as Hurts has a tendency of missing at least one to two games a year for injury.
Thompson-Robinson wasn't exactly bad for the Eagles, as he had some good practices in training camp. He was inconsistent and had an ugly pick-six against the Cleveland Browns, which might end up being the lasting memory Eagles fans have of him.

A veteran like him should be able to land elsewhere, but at least the Eagles are in a much better spot at quarterback than they were entering the weekend.
