Derrick Nnadi didn’t make the cut in our final 53-man roster projection but little did we know the Jets would get something for the veteran tackle in trade.
Give Darren Mougey credit for shipping Nnadi back to his previous team, the Kansas City Chiefs, for a conditional day three draft choice.
The veteran tackle has been largely invisible this preseason with many assuming his roster spot was not a sure thing. Having just traded for Harrison Phillips and Jowon Briggs, Nnadi was certainly on thin ice.
With roster cuts under way, it made sense for Gang Green to make a deal with any team looking to add defensive tackle depth. In the end, the Chiefs offered a 6th/7th round conditional pick, and the Jets pulled the trigger.
