West Ham’s [Lucas Paquetá](https://www.claretandhugh.info/report-claims-west-ham-have-named-their-price-to-sell-lucas-paqueta/) is in various reports this weekend as being linked with late transfer window interest from Tottenham and Aston Villa amongst others. As we reported earlier, there are suggestions that the Hammers have named their price to sell Paqueta – £60 million – this late in the transfer window.
Which we felt was nonsensical given that there are just eight days remaining in the window and no time at all to bring new recruits in before the 1st September close should an acceptable bid materialise.
We approached our high ranking source inside West Ham to clarify -would the Hammers seriously part with Paquetá for sixty million this late in the transfer window, without an opportunity to bring in players before the 1st September deadline?
_“We’d have to bring in a lot of players first, to even consider it”._
Which is reassuring enough.
West Ham have struggled bringing in players during _three months_ of transfer activity so the chances are pretty slim to zero, I’d say, of the club recruiting in sufficient numbers to sanction a sale, even if a £60 million bid comes in before the window closure.
Rest easy, all those with ‘**Paquetà 10′** personalised shirts. They’ll hopefully be good for another season.
