FC Porto could be getting closer to signing Arsenal centre-back Jakub Kiwior as a loan with a buy obligation is being mentioned.
According to O Jogo via Sport Witness, FC Porto are stepping up their chase of Jakub Kiwior, with the Polish defender’s future looking increasingly away from the north Londoners. The Portuguese giants are eager to land the defender on loan with a buy obligation in the deal, with the Gunners demanding at least €27 million.
Arsenal are looking set with their transfer activity and how deep Mikel Arteta wants his squad to be. The Gunners have had an unprecedented summer window, where they brought in seven new first-team stars, with Eberechi Eze being the latest to arrive.
Among the additions, Arsenal also struck a deal with Valencia for defender Cristhian Mosquera, and that may allow Arteta to have his defensive options aligned. As things stand, the Gunners have two players in each position of their squad, although there could be a few outgoings planned before the window ends.
Jakub Kiwior was expected to leave before the window opened, although some quarters suggested they could even keep the player. Arsenal rejected an approach from FC Porto earlier in the window, and now it appears the Portuguese giants are back in the mix.
Porto are back in talks with Arsenal over a loan deal with a buy obligation. The Gunners reportedly want €27 million for the Polish defender, and it appears, Porto and the north Londoners have a rough agreement of sorts in place for the move. Now they must convince the player to make a move, as he might consider the other offers he might have on the table.
Arsenal ready to sell Jakub Kiwior
Kiwior already has plenty of suitors, and now he might lean towards leaving after not being used in the opening two games of the new season. Arsenal might be open to letting him leave on loan as long as there are guarantees about the finances of any deal, such as the one being discussed with Porto.
The €27 million-rated Arsenal utility man might look for opportunities where he has a key role to play, and a move to Portugal might appeal to the defender. Arsenal can cope without him at the moment as they have a deep enough squad after their forays in the transfer market.
