Leeds United handed huge boost as Brighton make Premier League decision

The transfer window closes next Monday, and a lot of clubs including Leeds United are set to be very active. Daniel Farke has asked the club for reinforcements over the last few weeks.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor have arrived within that time period but as seen on Saturday, it will not be enough. The hammering at the hands of Arsenal shows why Leeds need to push to bring more quality into the squad before the window closes.

Facundo Buonanotte has been on Leeds’ radar these past few weeks. The Argentine midfielder has been told he can leave the club, and has been left out of the matchday squads for both games in the Premier League this season.

Graeme Bailey recently revealed that the Whites could make a late push to sign the playmaker, but no official bid has been made at this time.

L’Equipe report that Buonanotte has recently held talks with Lyon over a move. The midfielder is keen on a move to the Ligue 1 side, but Brighton have blocked the deal. They prefer Buonanotte to join a Premier League club, with Nottingham Forest showing interest. Lyon will keep pushing, and are set to hold talks with Brighton to convince them to accept a loan deal with no buy option.

Leeds would be the ideal environment for the playmaker

Just like with Leicester last season, a move to a club like Leeds would be the perfect environment for the 20-year old. He would get a lot of playing time, in a better team than the Foxes were last year.

Buonanotte had five goals and two assists in the Premier League last season, Leeds could do with that level of talent this year.
