Manchester United star Antony is still waiting for a fresh bid from Real Betis
Manchester United’s new season did not start as expected, and now it was a disappointment for the second time. After a 1-0 loss in the first match against Arsenal, the match against Fulham at Craven Cottage ended in a draw. The match started well and Matheus Cunha attacked strongly, but his shot hit the post.
Bruno Fernandes had a chance to score the first goal, but his penalty was wasted, and the team could not take the lead. In the second half, Leny Yoro’s header hit Rodrigo Muniz and found a place in the goal, and United went ahead. However, Fulham did not give up, and substitute Emile Smith Rowe scored the equaliser from Alex Iwobi’s cross. After this, both teams created chances, but no one could win.
The story of Antony and Real Betis
Amidst United’s poor start, reports have also heated up on Antony’s condition. According to the Daily Mail report, Antony himself wants Real Betis to speed up their efforts to bring him back in the next 24 hours. Betis had already brought him on loan in January, and he had performed well during that time.

Antony awaits Betis return as United weigh loan decision
He was initially nominated for LaLiga Player of the Month, and in his tenure at the LaLiga club, he scored five goals and two assists in 15 matches. Not only this, the Brazilian’s goal against Fiorentina in the Conference League led Betis to a European final for the first time, although the defeat to Chelsea shattered their dream.
Betis fans liked him a lot and the club’s president Angel Haro said in May that he wanted to keep him permanently, but the club’s financial condition is so bad that it is not possible to buy him. This is the reason why they are thinking of finalising a deal on loan again. United bought Antony from Ajax for a huge amount, but his journey at Old Trafford did not go as expected.
The Daily Mail report adds, that last season itself, Ruben Amorim considered him out of the plan and this time an attempt is being made to offload the 25-year-old permanently. Betis first tried to loan Antony in the summer but United turned him down. They are now planning to make a new offer on Monday.
Would it be wise to loan Antony out again?
In our opinion, United shouldn’t delay Antony’s case for long with just seven days remaining in the transfer window. If Real Betis can’t afford to buy him and Antony wants to return, a loan is the way to go. He performed well last time he was there and tried to prove himself again.
In such a situation, another loan could help him regain confidence and perhaps increase his market value in the long run. Amorim hasn’t considered him part of the team, and United have no other option at the moment.
It would be better for the club to benefit both parties by sending Antony to Betis, as it is difficult to find a place for him at Old Trafford right now. Moreover, if we can fix and finalise a perfect buy-out clause at the end of the season, then this deal will be absolutely right given the situation we are in. Meanwhile, Al-Ittihad remain keen on Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes.
