Chicago Bears: Stock up, stock down from preseason week 3

What a week it was for Tyson Bagent. On Wednesday, he and GM Ryan Poles agreed to a two-year extension worth $10 million, which can be worth up $16 million based on incentives. The deal keeps Bagent in Chicago through the 2027 season. Bagent got emotional when talking about what the deal meant to him and his family, saying that his dad didn't even have running water in his house until he was in high school. After securing life-changing money for himself and his family, he suited up for the second half of the final preseason game for Chicago, with the Bears down by 10 points.

While the offense only generated 53 yards in the third quarter, with the Chiefs scoring a touchdown to make it 27-10, the offense came to life in the fourth quarter with Bagent leading the charge. Bagent had two passes of over 15 yards after the third-string quarterback for KC, Chris Oladokun, was strip-sacked by Daniel Hardy, before finding Royce Freeman on a two-yard touchdown to get the Bears within 10 again. Bagent got the second drive for Chicago off to a fast start, with a check down to Stephen Carlson, which he turned into a 36-yard gain. The drive was capped off by the second of Bagent's three fourth-quarter TD passes, this one a three-yard wide-open one to Joel Wilson. Then, Bagent made his best throw of the night, which ended up being his last. After the Bears forced another Chiefs punt, Chicago got the ball back with 1:29 left. After some big-time throws to set the Bears up at the Chiefs' six-yard line with seven seconds left, Bagent threw a beautiful back shoulder touchdown to Walker for the game-winning touchdown.

Bagent was clearly going to be the backup from the word go, but ending the preseason off like that is a fantastic note to end on for the former undrafted free agent.
