'We have good options': Iraola on depth after naming strong bench vs Wolves

INTERNAL competition will prove to be positive for the [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/) as Andoni Iraola was able to name a very strong bench for the visit of Wolves on Saturday.

The replacements featured new wingers Amine Adli and Ben Gannon Doak, as well as young forward Eli Junior Kroupi and the return of Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert from injury.

While new wingers have joined the club, the two that started on Saturday and at Liverpool, Antoine Semenyo and David Brooks, have hit the ground running and impressed so far.

The arrival of reinforcements can only serve to raise the level of the squad, and Iraola is happy with how that pair have started the season, and was pleased to name such a strong group of substitutes.

“Today we had a very strong bench,” he told the Daily Echo.

“And this is very good for the team when you can have very good players playing 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 15 minutes.

“I think the internal competition has to be good for everyone.

“I decided to probably today to not put Ben \[Winterburn on the bench\] because too many new faces together, probably you want to mix it a little bit with Ryan and Justin that are players that obviously we know very well with Junior Kroupi, with Adli a little bit.

“But I think we have good options right now offensively and I hope we can keep them fit and have these options.”

The return of Christie and Kluivert was particularly pleasing for the boss, as both have had disrupted preseasons but will build into the team with games coming quickly over the next couple of weeks.

“I think they are players that have given us a lot and they haven't done a proper preseason so you don't really know physically where they are right now,” Iraola said.

“Because it's true one thing is to start training with the team but probably they don't have the load, the matches of preseason that the other teammates have.

“But I think they managed well the game and they've come in a moment where we had to be smart with the 1-0 and I think they've closed the game well.”
