Altay Bayindir was the only Man Utd player to do one thing vs Fulham, it's Ruben Amorim's biggest issue - Opinion

Manchester United endured a frustrating evening at Craven Cottage on Sunday, which brings plenty of negatives but also some positives.

Ruben Amorim could be seen shaking his head for large periods of Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday.

There were highs and lows throughout the clash for both sides, with United likely frustrated to only get a point, having started so strongly.

United had the magic of Matheus Cunha, and the Brazilian really should have scored twice in the opening exchanges with two really good chances.

However, the goal evaded the Red Devils.

It was as if the universe was against United, with Bruno Fernandes missing a penalty, which is a real rarity in football.

However, Amorim made mistakes and can only blame himself for the draw, with one statistic in particular coming across as strikingly concerning.

Altay Bayindir the only Manchester United player to create a big chance vs Fulham

With all of the attacking quality on the pitch for United, goals should be coming easily.

Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo, Cunha and Amad are all scorers and assisters which should see the Red Devils with a very well rounded attack who can do it all.

However, combined, the quartet created zero big chances against Fulham, with Altay Bayindir the only United player to manage this feat.

Bayindir created the chance from his own box, finding Cunha in between two Fulham defenders.

Cunha managed to bring the ball down perfectly, eliminating Joachim Andersen from the equation in the process, only for his effort to be saved.

It is staggering that over £250m of attacking quality was unable to create a single big chance, yet a goalkeeper rarely lauded for his ball-playing could.

Manchester United close to replacing Altay Bayindir

As we approach the final week of the transfer window, it is a fascinating situation which sees United get for a goalkeeper transfer shake-up.

United are closing in on signing Senne Lammens. The Belgian goalkeeper was left out of Royal Antwerp’s squad on Sunday as an indication that a deal is close, and signs suggest he could be immediately first choice.

As a result of Lammens’ arrival, United in Focus revealed that Bayindir is searching for a new club, opposed to Andre Onana who hasn’t played a minute this season.

However, the Cameroonian will be difficult to sell and therefore Lammens could end up arriving to be first choice ahead of Onana, which would be a huge statement by Amorim.

Bayindir, despite his creativity, had a bad game against Fulham, as he looked absolutely hopeless from every corner the hosts had, inspiring no confidence.
