Newcastle United have seen two bids rejected for Brentford striker Yoane Wissa this summer.
Keith Andrews decided to ignore Yoane Wissa following Brentford’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa.
Similarly to Eddie Howe, the Bees boss has been pressed hard on his wantaway striker’s future. Wissa - just like Alexander Isak - has downed tools and made several underhand moves to try and force a transfer.
Newcastle United have already seen two bids rejected for the 28-year-old this summer. The highest offer was understood to be worth around £40million, with NewcastleWorld understanding the figure would need to hit the £50million ballpark.
Keith Andrews after Aston Villa win
Unsurprisingly, Andrews was asked further on Wissa after Brentford stunned Villa to get off the mark for the season. He said: "I spoke about Wiss before the game. I'm not really interested in speaking about him after the game. It's about the players who played today who played with so much heart."
What did Keith Andrews say?
In his pre-match press conference on Friday, Andrews revealed Wissa has been training with his teammates, unlike Isak at Newcastle. He also reiterated that Brentford wish to keep the striker at the club.
"He's been training with the team," Andrews said. "In terms of being involved this weekend I'll make a decision on the squad on Saturday. He's been part of the group this week."
"He's a Brentford player right now. My stance around Yoane all along is that I don't want him to leave. I don't want to lose a player of that quality and that hasn't really changed throughout the whole episode. So hopefully he is here in the next 10 or 12 days. That is what I would like."

Eddie Howe on striker hunt
Howe candidly insisted the Magpies are chasing a Callum Wilson - not Isak - replacement before the window slams shut. He said: "I think for us, we are still actively in the market but, I say all the time, that any transfer has to be right.
“And for a number of reasons. With PSR, you're always trying to manage that situation. We're working hard on incomings. I wouldn't say we're close.
We still have a bit of time but that will go very quickly. We're in a position where the squad is in a really good place. We're still looking to replace Callum Wilson, that's the big area we're working on."
